Dating back to the 1800s, The Alma is a large Victorian building comprising an open-plan pub with a buzzing central bar, a cosy dining room and a first-floor private room, along with 23 ‘boutique’ hotel rooms. It is a traditional stop for teams and supporters on their way to the rugby at Twickenham.
The landlord was unhappy with the existing access control system at the Alma. He needed a robust, future-proof solution that would provide timely, useful management information to head office and integrate fully with the existing hotel booking system.
Working in association with the architect, interior designer and building contractor, we developed a full schedule for access control and architectural ironmongery at the Alma.
For flexible, functional access control, we proposed a Salto system. Salto is the market leader in wire-free access solutions, offering total control, robust security, reduced management overhead and real cost savings. We are one of a select group of suppliers chosen to resell the Salto range.
The Alma’s solution uses Salto SQL Departmental Software to control multiple locations from the client’s own central database. Guests and staff use a swipe card to open doors, and the system is fully integrated with hotel bookings. The system is also remotely networked, allowing the Alma and other premises to be monitored and controlled from the client’s head office.
